jetting ?

i bought a dyno jet stage 1 and 2 and plan on using stage 1. i have a hmf slip on and airbox lid on.. twin air filter and need to kno wht to set my jets too main and pilot and w/e else i got to do thnx. 05 450r

I will tell you what I did. I got the same kit and had a tuff time with it for a little while. Here is my mods I have no lid, full yoshi trc exhaust,hot cam stage 2, k and N filter, and the free stuff like the snorkel and the breather T. I ended up with a 170 main jet on the 4th clip from the top on the needle and 2 and 1/2 turn on my fuel mixture screw. I know you said you wanted to use the lid but that is the only help I can give you. Good luck and I hope you get it.

if u do a search u will find a lotta stuff.. but i was givin the advies for pulling the lid and removing the baffle was some where in the area of 168 main? i think, 48 leak jet to help the low end bobble when going from idle to wot real fast and then a crf needle in the 3rd clip

not sure if it helps but having a less restrictive exhust u wanna have a less restrictive intake so u might wanna take the lid off or at least cut it like the hrc lid is

most of this info is for the 06/07 not sure aobut 04 05

you have to cut the lid, cut the snorkle, drill the tee, buy the hrc needle 4th clip, and a 175 hex main jet, 2 1/2 - 2 3/4 turns on the mix screw


take that dyno jet kit and trash it!!!!!!!!!! (their numbers are different)



you need the hrc needle it changes your 1/4 - 3/4 throttle power




i run an hrc cam, hrc needle, stock pilot, 2 3/4 turn mix screw and a 190 main with an hrc modded lid (cut)


hrc needle $20
175 main $5
cut air box - free
drill breather tee - free

$25 = 5 horsepower

you should have bought the full pipe!!!!!
