I recently was changing my oil on my Honda 450r and noticed when I was unscrewing the drainage bolt that some threads were coming out. The bolt looks completely fine so it has to be the threading in the casing. I was wondering has anyone else dealt with this issue. I am not sure if I should rethread the casing and just move up a bolt size or use a helicoil to fix the issue. Any suggestions would be appreciated thanks. This really sucks btw bc I am planning on going to clash of the titans this upcoming weekend.

Same thing happened to me. I just rethread the casing and went up a size on the bolt, and it works just fine. If you do it this way, make sure the motor is right side up, so the shavings will fall out and not in the motor.

Also, put some heavy grease on the tap and you'll pretty much garantee keep all the shavings out of your motor, although I would do the next oil change after tapping it out real quick.
