I think I know wher it is, but can't tell what tool is needed to adjust it. Doesn't look like a regular screw, but is hard to see. Anyone know?

Thanks

yea it is you can do it with a very thin flat head screwdriver it worked on mine

do you have to adjust the fuel screw while its running?

i got the screw to turn but i had to take the carb off to get to it

the head is round with a flat spot on it.......im sure its an EPA thing

Do you guys have a 2006? I think the 2006 is different than previous years. Mine just looks round with no flat spot in it. I used a mirror and a flash light to see it.

I'm pretty sure motion pro makes a tool to adjust the pilot screw on any quad. I used a carb tool from an auto parts store to adjust mine. It's basically a long flexible screwdriver with interchangeable tips. It's a little tricky but it's the only thing I've found to work besides the motion pro tool. You do have to adjust it with the quad running. I think you adjust for the highest idle possible and then back it off slightly. I'm pretty sure there's something about it in the "articles" section of the site.

Hmm... something must be different then. Is it not a flathead screw?

the tool i got has 2......i did get 1 of the tips to turn the screw but i pulled the carb off and turned it upside down to do it.

but it didnt really fit good and it wasnt something you could do while it was running.

im going to have to take a pic of it the next time i take it apart.

Yeah a pic would help. All of the pilots I have seen are just a standard flathead. You definitely need to be able to sdjust it while it's running to get it right. You may even want to try calling a local dealer and see what they use to adjust them.

i called three dealers........they didnt have a clue as to what i was talking about.

1 made it sound like no one ever turns that screw.

and the other 2 said we just use a tool we have in the shop like im stupped for for not knowing which tool.

i dont think they what to tell people how because the EPA is really on shops as*

what im going to do is take it out sunday and put everything back the way it came then im going to change 1 thing at a time starting with just the air filter and run it and see how it goes.

ive just been doing this in the driveway and its not the best conditions. my HOA gets b*tchy about riding around.

but i now have way 2 many jets and spent way to much time to stop now.

Doesn't sound like you have the greatest local dealerships. It's hard to get good info from even the best ones. lol

There's bound to be a tool to adjust the pilot screw. It's just a matter of finding the right one. I wish I could be more help. Without seeing it I can't really come up with any more solutions. Hopefully someone else will chime in with an idea for you. Starting from stock sounds like a good idea though.

Good luck with it.

Glad to see that at least I'm not the only one stumped on this. I looked at the Motion Pro tool and it looks great except for the fact that it has the wrong tip. I'll try to call my local dealer. I've also sent an email to DynoJet. I'll let you know if I find anything.
