Well, Chad says everyone wants to know what I thought about the new KTM 525 Outlaw. If you like the 500, you will LOVE this rocketship powerhouse. You get all the benefits of your regular IRS Outlaw, plus the motor that will outpull any quad stock!!! I love this bike to death. For a racer, you can feel the weight difference very easily and the power benefits the lighter bike. If you saw my 4th corner start at the last race, you would not ask anything about the motor. I pulled around a built Yamaha like she missed a gear, then pulled her 3 quad lengths. The water issue is still something we are working on. The pond was 3 FOOT deep! We will have it all figured out by Ironman. I'l post more later when I have more time.

Thanks for the feedback on your race Stephanie. We look foward to hearing more , especially after Ironman. Last year I started on the back row and you passed me a couple miles before the finish last lap. Tried to hang with that Zuk but that only lasted 30 seconds. Good luck at Ironman and wave if you get by me again. Put that thing in 1st place!

Nice job Steph, all of us who race Outlaws kind of need a pro to give the machine good publicity. We are a very, very, very small group of people who are racing a machine that nobody thinks is competitive. Now go win on that thing!!!!!!

there were at least 2 outlaw 525's in the afternoon race at the ironman, 1 in stock (i would assume, stock pipe) and 1 in the A class. the IRS def had its advantages. i helped pull lots of yfz and trx's out of the creek b/c it was so rutted, and i dont think i saw an outlaw that even had a problem getting thru

Actually there was only one 525 in the afternoon. It was in the 4 Stroke A class, and I was on it. Rothermel was still on his 500 in the stock class. Anyway, the IRS definately made those crossings as easy as the field sections.

I don't think Roth would of been able to race the 525 due to being in the stock class. He was going for the championship and if he raced the 525 he most likey would of been challenged because the 525 is not a production quad yet. He still won the championship on the 500 tho.:D

What did you think about the power of the 525? Was it a noticeable difference?

Any problems with the bike? Comments?

Does anybody know what shocks will be on the 525. I noticed that in the Ironman shots it had those crappy Ryde FX shocks. Polaris says that they arent releasing what shocks they are using yet. That will suck if they are Ryde Fx

The motor and tranny are incredible. Very smooth, usable power. It was impressive to say the least. No comparison to the 500 motor. Keep in mind those 2 hours account for all of my seat time on the 525, other than 5 minutes friday. Can't wait to get more time in.

As for the suspension, to the best of my knowledge, The Ryde FX are production for 2007 model year 500 and 525 Outlaw.

Does anyone have pictures they could post from either of the races? Or links to other sights, because I have yet to see any. Thanks
