why is my fan not working on my 450r?

i just bought a used 2006 450r and it has a hotcam and it is jetted to, but the fan it scaring me cause ive had it for a week and the fan hasnt kicked on yet, can anyone help

I bought an 06 new about 4 months ago and it comes on you just never can tell. You should only worry if the red light comes on when you are ridin and in that case you should shut it down. By the way I see you are from Webb City, I live in Pittsburg where do you ride? We are goin to Little Sahara the last weekend of this month.

i ride in the carterville chats by webb we are planning to go to sahara next yr in may but the light comes on when i start it after riding it for a while but goes off but i never hear the fan runnin i bought it form someone in pittsburg its fast for sure ive outran the suzuki and yamaha 450s

Wheres the Carterville chats? I ride down by Picher Oklahoma in Trashville USA sometimes, there is several of us that have 450r's that like to ride a lot.

Is your ignition still plugged in? Alot of people remove it, but if you do your red light will NOT come on, and your fan will NOT come on.

the light on my 04 comes on when I start it then turns off after a while. My budie has a 06 and I havent seen his fan turn on yet.. he has had it for 3 months or so.
