just kidding.

i need help with this lawnmower someone was throwing away on my road. the lady was about 50 and said it didnt run since last summer so i asked if i could have it to fix and sell so they said i can have it. i was going to clean the carb but i figured it might not be that so i checked the oil and it was fine. i put gas in it, primered it, and on the second pull it roared. i turned it off after it was running for about five minutes and then pulled it a minute later and snapped off the pull rope and i have no idea how to get it back it. i put it through the hole and in the slot thing that moves but then i realized it cant crank because the rope isnt around that thing. i just need to know how to get the pull start rope back on it. you can put these pics in paint and draw what i need to do or just explain it well.
thanks.
CRich.

Easy enough fix, can be frustrating, pull off the cover and there will be the circular thing and u gotta re-tie the rope at the end of that thing, you'll see..

there is a ring around the pullcord housing thing. remove the bolts that hold it on and take it off. should be around 10mm bolts.

then take the pulley off CAREFULLY. there is a metal coil inside of it that makes it retract the cord. if you dont hold it in there, it will uncoil and it is a ***** and a half to get back in. then simply put the cord back in the pulley and reassemble;)

If theres rivits then drill them out, fix the pull rope and then put new ones .

in order to get the cage off the pully housing id have to drill out the rivits or something because the bolts just take off the outside and the gas tank. the silver rivits hold on the cage. open one of the pics in paint and draw what i have to take off if you know how to fix this please lol.

i think i got it now. drill out rivits. pull cage off. wrap pull string around circle pulley thing and dont let spring on bottom come undone. then rerivit.

Im betting the whole air shroud comes off with the top piece still attached. Change the rope and your good to go. Be careful with that spring when you wind it back up, it will get a knuckle. As they say, been there done that.
