im looking to redo over my 2000 400ex..

my question is im looking to do the 416 kit?

is it reliable for the trails?

will it over heat?

plus i want to port and polish it and do the hotcam stadge 2.

does it seem like this would be ok for trails???

plus did anyone ever hear of these type of gaskets

Wiseco 87mm piston w/rings-clips,and bearings.Turns your 400 into a 416cc powerhouse.This is a 11:1 comp.kit. Also come with a Namura Top End gasket kit and a stage 2 HOTCAMS cam


please let me know if anyone out there is runnign this kit and are you happy with it and does it over heat?????

From what i hear, the 416 is pretty reliable. Im looking to do the same setup in the next couple months.. That kit sounds pretty good, but id use cometic gaskets instead of the namura tho, ive heard that theyre not too great. U should also be able to run 93 octane on that 11.1 comp too. :cool:

I race XC with my 416ex. Je piston, TC Cam, Valves, seat ect. I do not have any port or polish work. Basicaly a stock engine and it has been very reliable. No over heating issues. Decently fast.

now with this 416 kit since im already in there

should i put in the heavy duty cam chain seen them on ebay for $50.00 shipped

does anyone have one from there and did it work better then stock???

That heavy duty chain would be a good investment since its a stronger chain and lees likely to stretch. And since you have a 2000 model u might as well get-r-done while youre in there;)
