I'm putting a 450R carb on my 416 ex, I haven't heard this motor run yet. I'm having some jetting issues. First, where is the air/fuel mixture screw, what is the stock jetting on this carb? Now i have a 48 pilot, 118 mian, and the needle is set in the third or middle clip position....

Yes, the 04/05' machines use a 42mm Keihin.

Stock jetting is 118 main, 48 pilot, 3rd clip on stock needle and A/F Screw 2 turns out.

The Air/Fuel mixture screw is located on the bottom of the carb, and is a brass colored flat type screw. I included a picture, the screw is circled in red.

Adjusting the mixture screw out richens the pilot/slow circuit, turning the mixture screw in leans the pilot/slow circuit.

Are theses D-shaped on the '06 models? Or is it that I can't see it correctly wile the carb is still on?

I'm not familiar with the 06/07 models. I know they use a different style carb: 40mm Keihin FCR.

The shape of the A/F screw on the 04/05 is circular with a straight groove thru the center for a flat type screw driver, not "D" shaped.

The "D" shaped screw is on the 06/07 FCR. They are a pain to get to without turning the carb some. A few companies make new screws that make adjustment easier. I plan on getting one in the future for mine.
