View Full Version : exhuast leak on 300ex WB pipe = sputtering and dying??

i have a 2000 300ex with a WB e series exhuast and in the back of the canister i feel a leak comeing from the bottom where the rivets are and i was riding and after i came back around my track it sarted running sloppy and died and i tried to restart it but it would not start then it finnally started and want ted to die i got it to idle and i noticed a leak of exhaust from the back of the canister and every time i revved it it would sputter and pop i was wondering if this was becasue of it o not i also cleaned my filter to be safe any help would be great

Sounds like you have a clogged jet.

my 300ex was doing that awhile back.i tryed everything i could possibly think of and nothing helped.I replaced the coil and it runs fine now.mine would do it when it got hot ,the coil started breaking down i guess.After it cooled down it would run fine for 15 min or so.

Yeah try cleaning your carb,sounds like a clogged jet.The leaking rivets in your exhaust are normal for pipes when they get time on them,they shouldnt make it run rough though.;)

thanks guys i think it is a clogged jet because a while back i saw some gunk in my gas tank so it finally probally got sucked up so i am going to clean my carb and and flush out the gas tank then i am going to install a fuel filter if that does not work then i will look in to what 00tn300ex was talkin about with the coil
