why is Powder Coating called powder coating?

its powder that is sprayed on the metal and when you cure it in an oven the powder pretty much melts and creates a smooth durable finish.

obviously he didnt know what the process of powdercoating involved so why don't u stop being a dick and actually give the guy some useful information because if he knew what powdercoating was then he wouldnt have to create these
