i have a kfx400 stock tires i ride dry loose dirt and into jumping and trail riding.ive been told to lower psi for better traction and softer landings, handling....dont know if its true but what would be best in these conditions.thanks i know this is a noob?i dont have any riding partners or any one i trust there info to ask.thanks:confused:

I would say 4-5 pounds of air for your type of terrain.

I race XC with 5 - 7 PSI
When I ride the MX track I run 10 - 12 psi.

The lower pressure gives you better traction but the higher pressure will help you corner better. Just play around with the pressures till you find what you like.:)

Lower pressure does make it grip better but you can throw a tire off the rim turning fast if its low.
