I was wondering how many of you keep hearing people say how slow mojave's are? I have a 90' Mojave all stock but a full DG pipe, I have had it up to 60 fairly easily, and If I would throw on a stage two jet-kit and K&N I'm sure It would be pretty fast.

they dont do too bad but you will not have the 1/2 mile to hit top end on a track

When it comes to the Mojave, search all threads for a member named Lurch

I used to have a mojave years ago. They dont have alot of top end speed but the have really good aceleration and handle like a dream...For a 250 4 stroke they are pretty quick.....I put a KX250 dirt bike motor in mine and it made it much quicker..LOL...it was a 250 powervalve 2 stroke motor....here is a pic...

No doubt that made a differance! Did the motor fit fairly easily?

the motor fit perfectly...just had to move some motor mounts around and it was all good....I also had to custom make an exhaust...I used the stock mojave radiator...it worked great....couldnt keep the front end on the ground though..LOL

I think my 385 ex would give that 370 mojave a good race. That headpipe looks kind of on the smallish side, good torque though i imagine.Sharp quad.:)

I think that mojaveaddict has the baddest one around. His frame as a hybrid between a 250R style front end that he custom built and a Mojave rear frame segment. He cut the front of his Mojave frame completely off and built his new front en almost identical to a Walsh or Roll set-up with a single lower frame rail. Only the mid-rear part of his frame is actually a Mojave frame.

I started to do that with mine but I wanted it to stay a "True Mojave" so I could race it in the production class at the nationals.

BTW - it's for sale. Let me know if you are interested. I want to get a new LTR450 or new KFX450 and keep it stock. I don't have the $$$ to keep doing this to quads.

I've got a complet CWR 330 race motor in my Mojave. It will smoke 400ex's and keep up with mild 450's in circle track easily. here are a few pics. Everything but the motor is still a work in progress lol. here are a few pics before I lowered it and put flat track tires on.

i know they are at least piped 450's, and there was a 250r with a 310 kit. greg's 345 mojave dynoed 52 hp at the wheels. the bike in the video was stroked to 370.

10-13-2006, 10:34 PM
Wow,thats crazy.I heard the sound of 2strokes but i couldnt make anything out.52hp is a lot of power for just about anything under 700cc.345cc,now thats just ridiculous. My klr600 motor i have which is the "big brother' to the mojave motor made 39 stock

25hp @ 8,000rpm stock.....I'm pretty sure some heavy mods to the Mojave motor would bring over 39hp of that KLR600. And since it was Greg from CWR, I'm pretty sure he would know how to get the most out of the Mojo. :D

I think the Mojave was one of the best quads out there. Mine was so reliable. It couldn't be stopped. Until, the fateful day where somebody stole it!
