How much do the crankcases have to be bored out? Just wondering how many mm more it is.
Is it enough that I have to disassemble and have it done or will I be able to get enough off w/ the old die grinder?

call greg at cycleworksracing.net. he'll tell you.

I got my 330 kit through greg. The BEST way to do it is send him your whole motor and let him split the cases and bore them. I tried taking a cheaper route, and splitting the cases locally, then sending them to him to be bored, but I ened up spending more, and having more down time. The die grinder is a very BAD BAD BAD idea. Theres no way your gonna get it perfect like he can.

thanks for the replies guys. I talked w/ him last nite a bit. Learned a couple of things about this quad too. I will have to get some pics tomorrow. I just picked it up a couple of days ago. It's an 01 it looks almost brand new. One owner(a lady) who never rode it. She may have put 40hrs on it. Only mod is ITP wheels. Gonna put on some 20's in the back and go w/ a 14T front sprocket.

As you can see, there is not much time on this quad. Those are the stock tires and the plastics have barely a scratch on them. There is some baked on clay on some of the parts that is a bit obvious though. I thought it was a pretty good deal for $1500.
I had my eye on a 05 400ex for $3100 but I figured w/ the money saved I could mod the Mo.

I don't know what was wrong w/ the Mojave or if your 250ex has mods but the Mojave should be the one winning in a race. Maybe he just couldn't drive. This thing is dead even w/ the 300ex w/ a person of the same weight.
Right now I am working on changing the gearing and putting different tires on. My plans so far include widening her out a bit, 330 kit, cams, bigger carb, huge porting job w/ oversize valves, full system, nerfs, front bumper. It will take a while but I will get it all done.

Looks like your gonna have one nice Mojave. I have a Dg Krome Power pipe for $70 it you want it. It has a little surface rust that could probly be buffed out, and the silencer is "frayed" (I guess) where it meets the header, It looks pretty good. heres a pic of it on the quad.

I may take that pipe off your hands. Exactly how loud is that thing? Is it obnoxious or tolerable? Do you have a pic of the (frayed) section?

Its not real bad, I always just put a hose clamp to kinda hold it together cuz its not a real tight fit. I could probly get a pic tuesday night or so, i have to work tomorrow.

greenblood, how do you like the big gun exhaust? how much of a gain did it giver the mojo?

im debating whether to get the T4 or the evo

only thing about teh evo is i dont like how it sticks out in the back (i saw that on your quad) i like to do wheelies so that wouldfnt be to good now would it?

I like the big gun. It is a really good exhuast. It sounds so much better than the Dg, without being quite as obnoxious. It does stick out the back a little too far, but I'm pretty sure a DG grab bar would fix that. It fit really good, and seems pretty durable. The t4 only comes as a slip on, and the big gun header is quite a bit different that stock. I was gonna keep the Dg, but greg said If I'm gonna build the motor like that, I might as well do EVERYTHING right the first time...lol.

yeah, i know the t4 is only a slipon. im not doing to much to the motor. probly only a carb, and some other small stuff.

i love the sound of t4's, never heard a big gun though:)

Just hook me up w/ the pic when you get a chance. I don't care if the DG sticks out a bit. It won't hurt my wheelie riding. Some of us have control.
I don't understand the whole 43 block wheelies. What does that mean? We measure them by difficulty and time up, not distance. Anyone can ride distance if there speed is up. I like to ride them slow and stop occasionally. Stand on the pegs a little, flamingos, laying in the seat. Gets really fun when you can do long combos and you aren't rocking it. The best wheelies are smooth ones not long ones. I could probably count off zip codes if I wanted but I prefer to stay in one field and play.
Little secret for you guys doing standup wheelies on quads. Use your index finger not your thumb. Trust me, it will take you about 10 minutes to learn it. If you are already good w/ your thumb you will have no problem using your index finger. If you have ever taken a really tight right hand turn at speed you already know how to position your hand to use your index finger on the throttle.

my 250ex is modded with pipe jets filter rev box tires thats why i beat it and the kid was riding longer than me

Ruby Soho

he could have been riding longer, but still sucks?

im sorry but theres no way a 250ex can beat a mojave

Sorry man, I am going a different route. I am going to go with the Supertrapp exhaust. Got a little extra money so I figured I would go ahead and get what I wanted in the first place.

Oh, thats cool. But if your getting a supertrapp, don't get an IDS2, try to find an older model 4in. model, otherwise go white brothes or big gun, thats what CWR says, and he is the Mojave specialist. Check out www.cycleworksracing.net, he can hook ya up.
