This is my first time changing the oil on my 250r, on my 99 YZ250 I used to use a quart, would this be about what I would need for the R?

700cc of oil. it will fill higher then the OIL CHECK screw. alot of people fill the motor up to till it comes out of the oil check hole, thats about 550cc of oil, it requires 700cc in the manual

I have an open bottle laying around from another bike that has about 900cc's, will it hurt it to kill the bottle?

I read in the manual to use 700cc the first time and 600cc after that. If you rebuild your engine to use 700cc and 600cc for every oil change following. I could be wrong but that is why I am posting this so I don't screw my engine up by doing it the wrong way.

yea i forgot about that, but synthetic oil doesnt stick to the case wallas as much as the oem oil would so i just put 700 in everytime. i also flush my tranny so thats why i use 700cc

to be safe use 650cc
