Overheating???

Well I ripped into my motor today because I need to replace the countershaft. The thing that caught my eye was that my cylinder sleeve is turning a goldish color??? Also the little nipple things on the clutch plates are also turning gold? Is this a sign of engine over heating? I guess its time for an oil cooler.

i would say so!!! u will need a cylinder rebore also

what are you talking about? I dont need to change the size. The sleeve is still perfect.

I'm not sure I'd say those clutch plates look unusual. They'll frequently take on a bit of a goldish color.

haha. Yeah you dont have to rebore the sleeve unless you get dirt or something in there.

as for the clutch plates, Colby informed me that they tend to take a goldish color. Im still worried about my sleeve being gold.

if ur cylinder is all golden, then do u think that it will be fine if u just hone it?? i dunno, i wouldn't think so. but that is just my thought. if i am wrong then someone correct me.

my 300 was overheating bad after i built it stuck an oil cooler on and solved everything.id say anytime you bore one anything 40 over or above u should slap on a cooler.

that really shouldnt matter. Even it if does and it was a bad sign of over heating, I would need a new sleeve all together, becausee this one woudl be warped.
