will the new style front plastic of a 2006-07 400 ex work on a 2003 400ex?

yes it will you just need to add an aftermarket hood like quadtech or maier for it to fit right.

what do you mean by an aftermarket hood? im wanting to keep the stock headlights on the new plastic.. i just like the look of the new better

i think it will fit just fine. they didn't change anything under the plastics. just the plastic.

There are different brackets and what-nots. Someone on ebay makes a conversion kit that comes with everything you need including all new plastics.
