Free plate check up

Hey, I havent been on here in forever...but I got a call today around noon from one of my fathers co workers saying that they think they are following a truck with my stolen quad in the back. So I had him write down the tags. And I have to go to work right now and the courthouse will be closed when i get off. So are there any sites or quick ways to get the tags checked? For free of course lol...thanks
