Running yfz shocks on a 400ex looks dangerous. Imo it is a dumb Idea. You could buy some works shocks off ebay for cheaper than you could buy yfz shocks and the worcs would probably handle better any way.

I had 450R shocks and switched to YFZ I got both sets for free.I like the way the YFZ make my bike sit about 1 inch lower. If you are paying for stocks shocks DONT just get aftermarket. If I had paid for these(which I would never) I would be disappointed.

Yfz shocks and 450r shcks are said to handle better than works cheep ones.

I got the yfz shocks and nothing dangerous about em.

Lowest ride hight

The ride hight can be brought up to about stock hight if wanted.
Yfz shocks handle every thing.

For me all i had to do is grind the top shock eye hole skinnier to get them to fit using stock A-arms.

Then i switched to +3 A-arms and the bottom eye of the shock was a little to fat for the new A-arms so i had to grind them a tad skinnier.

Work perfect. Look good and can be adjusted to handle any thing and the ride hight is as adjustable as aftermarket shocks would be.

I paid $150 for mine and i would pic these shocks over works or 450r shocks any day. These can handle bigger jumps than elkas.

This is the height i use for jumping

You could never get a low ride hight with 450r shocks

Same with putting 450r shocks on. Thats if you are not going to grind on the shock you need to make new mounts. By grinding the shocks skinnier you get around needing to make new mounts.

Only reason new mounts are needed is cause the shocks eye hole is fatter than 400ex shocks so you eather make a new mount or grined the shock.
