I have a specific question on the Raptor 700 Rear Shock. With me on the bike (230lbs), the rear end sagged A LOT...so I thought I would adjust the pre-load by adjusting the spring. Looking at the manual...it says that the length of the spring (at least at the points they recommended measurement) should be between 9.0 inches and 9.6 inches. That doesn't seem like a lot of adjustment. I adjusted the spring to 9.0 inches (the stiffest setting) but the bike still sags more than it should with me on it(based on a percentage of the overall travel).
There are still A LOT of threads available to go below the minimum 9.0 inches recommended by the manual...so my question is this: What would the impact be of continuing to increase the pre-load on the shock? Will it negatively impact the performance of the shock?
