I have a 2006 450R and I just got a new set of paddle tires.
I was wondering how to install the lug nuts on the new douglas.190 rims that came with them. If maybe I can turn the acorn side of the nut out and just run a washer as a spacer.
Any ideas. I dont want to ruin anything.

Just do it right and go buy the proper nuts, their fairly cheap. Better safe then sorry

I just turned my stock lugs around so the tapered side is out. Seems to work fine. If you do not turn them around the lugs can get stuck.

first is there slop between the holes and the studs? if so buy some new lugs. If they are snug just turn the lugs around. That is how mine fit, snug and flipped...
have fun

yes, use a washer than just flip the stock lugs around flat side down to the washer, works fine and is totally safe

Just turn the stock nuts backwards with the cone facing out. also use a washer. If not, the lugnut will eat into the aluminum rim over time. The factory rims have a steel insert. Douglas does not have this insert. Use washers. I've been doing it for years with no problems.

You need to put some washers on before putting the lug nut on. Unless you like digging the lugs into you wheels.
