400ex left crank case cover question!

i was changing my stator and when i took my crank case cover off about 1/4 of a quart of oil came out. is that suppose to happen because another 400ex i seen the cover come off of no oil came out. so please tell me if the oil is suppose to come out.:confused:

The 400ex has a dry sump set up but there will always be some oil sitting in the bottom of the cases. Mine always has a bit in there.
I wouldnt be worried about it.
