I was just wondering if aftermarket shocks from a 400ex would work on a 450r. I have a 2004 450r and would like to update the suspension, but it seems their is a lot more available for sale for a 400ex. Let me know if this works?

yep. You may need to add washers but yep. They will slightly lower you. I seen 400ex elkas on a 450r.

I believe std. travel 450r shocks are just a tad longer...a buddy of mine had some std. travel pep limited mass shocks on his ex and they bolted right up to his 450r, however he did have std. travel houser a-arms on, doubt it makes a difference though. It has worked fine for him, i even rode it and everything worked great...just my 2 cents.
