I think its just a honda thing man. All the honda's i've been around are a pain to start cold. my old 300 ex was horrible an when i put a pipe and jet on, it only made it worse. with my 250 all i do is pull out the choke and thumb the throttle slightly for a min or so and it will finally idle.

when ever i had mine it would always fire up in the dead of winter. turn your idle up a little bit before starting it up and make sure the choke is all the way out. it should fire up easily.

yea i have a 2005 250ex and it is stock except the skid plate and a arm guards. and in the 29-32 degrees up here in wisconsin and my 250ex fires right up it just takes a bit to warm up, now what i do is start it up with full choke then let it down to 1/2 or quarter. then give it a low/med rev to keep it going then slowly drive it in 1st gear for about 4 mins 1st or 2nd gear is wut i do then about a couple mins its good to go... ii hope this helps you pm me if it does:D
