My 300ex will be needing new rubber before too long. I mostly ride trails (some quite rough)/ farm ground and mild jumping. What tires do y'all have experience and would recommend - and where to price/buy? Fronts are about shot now, rears are pretty close... thanks!

For the money you can't beat the kenda klaw. They perform well and wear for a long time. they average $55 each for the six ply tires in the sizes you need.

and I consider them race proven. I use them on my race 300ex and they work amazing in dry conditions, all the way to riding through to the stickiest mud you can think of.

I am probably going to get the new ITP GNCC's. They are supposed to be really good XC/Desert tires and wear well. Otherwise, I've heard good things about ITP's new Trac Star as well. It's designed to be a factory replacement upgrade as an "all-around" tire.

A lot of people run Klaw's though and I haven't heard any negatives. Take Colby's advice.

The best combo I have ran was GNCC fronts with HD rears.

I will probably try the kendas next though (similar design).

personally, I've always loved the 400ex stock ohtsus. I run holeshot mx/mxr4 for the track, and 400ex ohtsus for the trails.

I just put a set of ITP GNCC fronts and rears on this weekend and they did a great job in the mud!

What ply are the stock Ohtsu mr501 400ex tires, i think they are the lightest tires for the amount of traction they have,... i raced my buddys 450r and he had stock ex tires and i had fast trekkers(same sizes) and we tied and we switched tires and i got him by about 5 or 6 lengths so weight of tires is a big issue on acceleration. The deal is i am trying to find light tires that have good traction for trail riding. Any suggestions,... i ride in hayfields, hardpacked slick, and muddy/loose terrian so its hard to find something that gives me everything that i want.
