i have a 03 400 ex, no major mods, just a slip on exhaust and thats about it, when i bought the quad, there was a slight ticking/clicking noise, and as i rode it more it became louder. i thought it might be the valves so i adjusted them, not off to far, but it was still making the noise. so i dug farther and it seems to be the cam chain, i didnt know if i should buy a new tensioner or get a new hd chain and tensioner. didnt know if anyone else has had the same problem. any help would be appreciated. thanks, and a great and helpful website. good job
