Elkas or Pep ZPS and Houser Long travel A-arms, and a +1 1/4 Houser swingarms with a LSR axle is the way to go.

Make that a -1" swingarm for the 86!;)

if you're running on a "limited" budget, then i'd get JD arms, Works shocks, or PEP, LSR axle, and a houser swingarm

Look on ebay!!! I bought my ohlins off there for $430(nearly new and in the original box) and my laegers a-arms(had a few months of use on them) for $420. LRD will make your rear shock a long traval, add an eibach spring, and valve it to your specs for $450-480. With my LRD rear shock I don't have to run any preload, and have about 3 1\2 inches of sag and it works awesome.

im not on a too tight budjet, but over $1,000 for the front shocks is a little bit toooo much

Those Elka's are about $730 spankin new. Go with them unless you find something used cheaper.

TCS is a good shock for the money, proably more than you will need. I would send your rear shock to TCS and have them redo it for your weight and style. Find some used front TCS, PEP etc shocks on ebay and have them sent to TCS or wherever, I wouldnt spend more than 500-600 for used though, you will pay as much as 200 to have them revalved and springed. The reason I say TCS is they will have your shocks done in a weeks time. A-arms, Get +2/+1 For the swingarm, get a minus 1 or a 88-89 and one that has 4 pinch bolts in the rear. LSR axle. If I was to do mine over this is what I would do. Its all you need to be competitive besides motorwork. Its mostly rider I have found out after spending lots of $$$$

TCS Shocks=$
+2/+1 a-arms=$
88-89 Swingarm=$
LSR axle=$
Good motor rebuild=$

i am going with elka triple rate fronts, elka dual rate rear, lsr axle, - 1 1/4 houser swingarm, and +2 +1 a arms. already have the shocks and the axle. i cant decide on which a arms i want to get now? jeff told me that houser quit chroming there tops and i really liked that.

The non chroming is only temporary!

Im running a stock 86 swingarm. It holds up great (86 swingarms are a lil stronger).
I'd say go with elka or pep shocks, and just get someone to vavle your stocker (stock rears are pretty nice)
For swingarm and a-arms go for houser or laeger
axle-lsr

Ohlins are great shocks if you get them from somewhere that will valve them for you, If you buy them for a big discount store they wont be valved for you and they'll suck. Thats why some people dont liek them. I luv my ohlins rear

you wont break your swingarm but it would be better to get a 89 length swingarm. it helps out handling and traction on a 250r.

thanks guys...
santacluas may be cheap this year and i might just get works triple rates. this is still my first season of racing...
for xmas i can spend $1,000....
thats works triple rates w/ rezzies, with houser aarms.
or just elka or pep front shocks, racing season is right around the corner after xmas (spring) so i may just get the works, if i get pep or elka i wouldnt be able to save enough for aarms, and if i did my 250r would be mostly stock besides that.
are works triple rates w/ cans really bad? cause i herd they arent the greatest

All I have to say is dont cheap cheap on the front end if your a serious racer. Suspension is everything

Well lets put it this way. When switching from my Works TR's With Rezzies to my Axis TRs w/ comp. adjust rezzies, i shaved my lap times from 1:14 to 1:04.
