Alright, ive never had this happen before. I have my valve covers off and am turning the crank over until the "T" mark is lined up, i go to wiggle the rockers and they are stiff? So i turn it over another time and realine it and they are still stiff, there is no play in them at all. Im watching the valves to make sure its at TDC also. So what should i do, just try and adjust them anyways or am i forgetting to do something, im completely out of ideas.

keep turning til you feel slack. You need to hit the compression stroke. 4 revolutions. Hence the 4 stroke name

nope....hence the 4 stroke name is from the 4 strokes
intake stroke
compression stroke
power stroke
exhaust stroke

but you do need to be on the compression stroke at tdc

I put a screw driver down the spark plug hole to make sure it was TDC. If the vavles still are tight do it again until they loosen up.

well i ended up getting them, i was 99.9% sure it was on the compression stroke/ T mark the whole time but the valves were still tight no matter what. I just loosened them and adjusted them, they're adjusted now. Thanks guys.

Yeah and each one of those strokes takes one full revolution of the crank (as ducman998r) was saying.

stang9gt- ur wrong to...dont mean to be mean or nothin just tryin to clear things up

one stroke is half a revolution not a full revolution
intake stroke is where the piston goes to bottom of the cylinder to pull in air and gas....thats half a revolution not a full

For some people that don't understand how a 4 stroke or 2 stroke works here a website to help you out!

yup a complete cycle is 720 degrees ...not 1440 degrees
