good ones work good and can save you, I have one from back in the 80's my dad had, it works on local cops but thats about it. some states there ilegal

i have a cobra not sure what model but it picks up like 13 differant types, it has saved me many times i usally drive on average 10-15 over if not more. it picks up everything but state highway cops im not sure what kind of radar they use but it doesnt detect it, but i only paid 80 bucks for it and it has deffinatly paid its self off from the times it has saved me on the back roads.

Look how much old V1s sell on ebay!

I have had 2 of them.. The first one I sold on ebay to get a updated one and only had to come up with 25.00 for a new one and the old one was over 4 years old !

they are illegal in a lot of places i think..if you get pulled over, just take it off your dash and hide it...

The ones I've seen just suction cup on the windshield so they're easily removable. They are worth the money.

^^^ he's right everyone in my family has one and they have saved me sooo many times. ive picked up cops from more than a mile away countless times. sure the V1 is a little pricy, but its like that for a reason...cause its the best.you can't beat it. dont waste your money on anythging else.

I bought a $50 one from Wal-Mart and it works great. I picked up cops from over a couple miles away. Never got a ticket yet (knock on wood). The only problem is that cops get smart and turn off there radar guns when crusing around. Then when they see you they flip it on and you have no time to slow down. Also they only work when in traffic. Of you are on the road by yerself your going to get caught 9 time out of 10.

Now I can not speak for the expensive ones. They have more bells and whitles

My brother has a cobra one, it works good, it only had a "malfunction" because it couldn't detect one radar gun so he got a ticket for going 39 in 35 :huh

Other than that and going off because of automatic doors (like a store, walmart and stuff) and sometimes smoke detectors it's pretty good.

i believe they are only illeagal in virgina and some parts of canada

the detectors are legal in most states. the radar jammers tho are illegal most everywhere.
