Here in the next few weeks I plan on having a JE 440 kit put in

my 2000 400ex. With a hotcam stage2, jets, I was told by my

local honda shop that the LRD exhaust is really good for the 400,

what is the best exhaust for it. Should I go w/ high compression

piston or low? What else should I do to it? I ride on trails and in

fields and plan on doing a few drag races now and then. I also

plan on putting hd head studs in it. Has anyone had any

problems with their 440? Let me know please. I'm trying to do my

400 right the frist time.

if u r going with the 440 then go with a high comp piston cuz the bore size donent mean chit if u dont have higher compression.
The LDR is a good pipe but i would go with the HMF,yoshi, or sparks whitch are all great pipes. the main problem people have with the 440 is blowing base gaskets, you can get cosmetic steal gaskets to prevent it from happening. the HD studs r a must with the 440 cuz they will stretch and could even rip out of the threads.
if u still have stock tires i would go get some kenda klaws (i love mine) cuz the stock tires suck and all u will do is spin.
