you used throttle when starting it and it kicked back, destroying the clutch...lonestar_r and myself had this done, for free, by honda, just 2 weeks ago, mine was out of warranty for a week and his had been out of warranty for a few months. neither of us paid a cent.

the parts came to about $385 and here is what they replaced:
1 bearing(31x36x18.5) 91012-pn6-701
1 gear(35t) 28110-mey-670
1 ring, friction 28127-ms2-612
1 clutch, one way 28125-mey-671
1 clutch outer 28115-mey-670
2 hp coolant qt 08c50-c321s01
1 gear(23t) 23121-hp1-600
1 gear(9t/19t) 28120-hp1-601
1 gasket, r cover 1193-hp1-600

as i said, all this was considered warranty repair even though our warranties had run out!!

to be honest with you, after i found out not to use the throttle, it still kicked back. but that may have been because the damage was already done.

there is a loud clunk when it happens. supposedly it only happens when throttle is used to start the machine, but i have my doubts.

if i have to have it fixed again, i'll be adding the kicker to it instead...
