Hello

I am wanting to build a Quad Garage for our 3 quads. But I am not sure on how to lay it out or how big to make it. Was thinking 12w X 14d? If any you guys and gals have pics of your garages I would like to see them for some ideas if you would please.

Thanks
Stan

This will be for the quads only. I have some other storage sheds for the misc stuff. It will also be insulated and dry walled for the heating and A/C:D

How much bigger?

I think I am going to go with 16 deep x 20 wide. I am building this one beside another one and they will be attachedand I dont want to go any deeper because the other buiding is 16 deep to. I also plan on adding one more quad to the family later on and by going to 20 I will have a ton of room.

wow i got sumthin you guys wont expect we have a big truck trailer with the axles out from under it sitting on the ground witha dirt ramp built up to the door for our new quad building i think its 42' long and a hair over 8 on the inside, i think we are gonna put a few doors along side we have 3 five foot wide doors in our barn that arent being used and that way we could pull and few infront sideways and the back near the double doors will be jsut from working and for my fourwheeler

we still gotta put some lights in there through and finishing running power to it also

btw bluebarron if there was a shower and bath room off that room i would live there i mean thats really all youd need am i right,

To a man the garage is a heaven. A place to pound a couple beers and shoot the ***** with the boys. 2 car, with Quad magazine's scantaly clad posters hanging all over the place.

but this is about 20 ft acrost the driveway. its my dads "mantown". I can work in here just as long as I cleen up good. I usually bace my project in the little shop, then bring smaller parts over to this shop if they require power tools or somthing.

It has a paint booth, sand blaster, sand blasting room, show room ( upstairs), wash bay, welder, air compresor, and every tool that you can think of.

Working for a Pre-Engineered Metal Building Company, I'll jsut say.. generally for the best bang for the buck you want to look for about 20ft wide across the gable end. Bumping up to the 24ft ususally increases the price significantly.

It's where the stoutness of the steel has to jump up to the next level to span.

Usually a 20x24 is only a small fraction more than say a 16x20 yet has 50% more square footage.

Also if you have a r-panel roof that has penetrating fasteners, make sure that the fasteners have rubber backed washers or you're penetrations will rust out and leak over time.

If you're looking for unpainted roof. Get a galvalume style. It will last 30+ years. If painted substrate can be galvanized, or galvalume, but the best coatings are the ones w/ a Kynar500 finish on them.

Just a couple things to look for.

Build bigger than you'll ever think you'll need, and as much as you can afford.

Mines 24 x 40, and includes the car and truck.

Thanks for all the info and pics!!!! I think I am going to start building this weekend. I am having a addition added to my house and there was a ton of lumber left over, enough for a 16x20. I still need to buy more for the ends and roof but have enough to get started.

This is just temporary till I refinance again. Then will come the "Mantown" most likely a 40x80 Thats why I dont need to go large now. I just need aplace for them instead of being out side under a tarp and I dont need to wake up to see all 3 missing one day:eek2:

Thanks again for the pics, It has given me alot of ideas on how to lay my quad shop.

Thanks
Stan

here is my idea for an atv garage. when you first this picture you i bet your thinking, omg what is that..? that is the ugliest picture ever. lol, and your right. i drew this very fast (def not my best); look at it close. the point is the idea. this is my idea for a atv garage. the shelf to the right you could build just high enought that it is taller than the bottom atvs. this way you have a 2 story atv storage. there are two work benchs. just an idea, could add various things needed later.

well what do you think ?
