I'm thinking one day when I'm older i want to race a baja 500 or possbily 1000. how old would you have to be and is it hard to enter?

Yup, anyone can enter..You have to constantly condition, condition, and condition before though. Who doesn't want to be in the Baja 1000??? In my opionion it is the dopest race ever.

I can't find thing like on quads, and age requirements , like a rulebook or anything, its a little confusing.

dude if your serious, that is friggen sweet!! I'm definately gonna try and get in the baja 1000 then! I love riding enogh to have the confidence to do it.

The baja races are TOUGH. Sure, it would be cool, but if I were you, I would look at some of the Best In The Desert races before I attempted to run the baja.

The baja race isn't for amateurs. Get a little experience in some of the easier desert races before you jump into something like that.

Exactly, Baja isn't something you just hop into because you think your up for it. Especially if your a Novice rider, or a non-desert rider.

If you don't respect the terrain, it can bite you..HARD. And the certain percentage of ignorant locals can too.:ermm:

Start out, with a team, do something like the BITD Avi 150, or the Parker 250. Those are smoother races to cut your teeth on. If you like it, do...say, the Henderson's Terrible 400...It's a really rough/technical track, and will teach you a thing or two. Then, maybe, think about doing the Baja 500, then the 1000....You could throw a San Felipe 250 or something in there to possibly.

Also, I guarantee that most of the riders on here, have bikes that wouldn't make it to the halfway point in a 1000. Bike preparation in desert racing is way over, above, and beyond other forms of racing....at least in my experiences
