View Full Version : 2005 swingarm on 2006 bike??!

can a 2005 swingarm work on a 2006 450r?!?! we're building my brothers TT race bike for next year and w dont have a swing arm... but a buddy of ours has 3 2005 TT swingarms and i was wondering if they would work...

Well the 06 swingarm is longer and the linkage is different and the shock is longer and the resovior is located a little different then the 05.

Will it work, it might bolt on, but the ride probably won't be the best, and I would stay with the 06.

I believe they are interchangable as long as you use the suspension components (shock and linkage) from the corresponding year.

ok... its all good... i had a stock 06 swingarm on my race bike and it was sitting way to high... i put a -1 2005 swingarm on which will be a -2 for the 06 bike... and it sits perfect, i have a 400ex linkage on there...
