There's a guy around me that has one he races Harescrambles with. He added Elka shocks, and took off all the racks and black plastic pieces to slim it down. The Elkas lowered it a bit as well. I think he put a set of Foreman locking hubs on it, so he could take it out of 4WD. I kinda like it. Without all the racks and stuff, it looks kinda sporty.

Since when did Honda ever make a 4wd Recon?

Sorry I had "Rancher"on the brain. You are correct. That being said, I beleive you could make a Recon 4WD, as it is just a Rancher without the front Diff and axles. Suppose you would need the Rancher engine and range box too. Guess it would be cheaper to just buy a Rancher to begin with.

I can tell you from expirience, that the Supertrapp is VERY loud, even with the minimum amount of discs installed. I would personally stick with the stock exhaust for now and save you money for some good shocks, and better tires/wheels. Putting an exhaust on a Recon isn't going to do much but piss off all your neighbors.

Yeah, it's loud. I have an IDS2 on my 300ex and I wish I could take it back. I don't ride it that much, since I have alot of elderly neighbors. I've noticed that you don't think it's that loud until you have someone else ride it up and down the street.
