DASA, RE, and SPARKS are the best from what I have read.....

Dasa, Sparks, and Rossier seem to be some of the best performing from what I have heard/read.

whoa man... that looks bad ***. What did you do to make it like that just add an extra bend in it ? how'd you do it?

well i might have to start charging for my engineering expertise....but here's what i did.

You have to purchase an intake set up that removes the entire air box and runs just an aluminum tube off the carb that allows a good sized k&n to be clamped on. I purchased mine from Velocity racing.

step2: take the hmf slip on and drill out all the pop rivvetts. by doing this it will allow you to pull the inside of the pipe apart. I wanted to keep the rear exhaust mount, so i pulled the inner core out from where the pipe mounts to the header. but then i had to chop the outside can from the back part in order to keep the rear exhaust mount.

step 3: mark the header where you need to cut it in order to make the straightest line possible.

step 4: cut the mount off the slip on closest to the header....this allows for more clearance and will not interfere with the air filter.

step 5: position the inner core with the rear the closest you can in order to make a straight cut so you do not have to have a large bend in the pipe you have to make.

step 6: put the slip on back together with pop rivvetts.

step 7: using the rear exhaust mount, make a hollow tube that will allow a long bolt with a nut and washer to hold the rear on.

step 8: purchase an exhaust clamp: 4inches in diameter and take and bolt it around the subframe rail on the battery side. this will allow pull from both sides of the subframe when holding the pipe in place.

step 9: take the biike to a place that bends 1 3/4 - 2 inch exhaust tubing and have them put a mid-pipe in.

step 10: remove brake light. purchase a kit from auto zone or whereever and mount 1 tail light to each side where the stock one mounted up to.

after that you should be good to go. any questions feel free to ask. this definately gives the custom look to a 450r, my next project is moving the battery up front underneath the hood.

That center exhaust is sweet. You got any bigger pics?

I'm gonna go with the Rossier. This pipe pulls thru every gear. Great all around pipe IMO.

can you fit the heat shield on the rossier ?

Dasa, Rossier, Sparks, HMF, Yoshimura, CT, Ron woods.

you should buy my Looney Tuned dual exhaust setup. Looks great, they claim almost 7hp gain, definitely different from everything else out there.

If your motor is going to stay pretty much stock then get a slip on such as GT Thunder, HMF, Dr.D, Yosh, LRD.

DASA, Rossier, HMF, Ron Woods, or Yoshi.

I've seen that DASA makes some of the best numbers on the dyno.

Ron Woods pipe makes great top end power, but its not-so-great down low...great drag pipe.

Rossier makes pretty good power everywhere, but the DASA outperforms it everywhere.

HMF makes the same, or a little more power than the DASA to about 7500rpm...after that, the DASA takes over and pulls hard.

In short, my next pipe will be a DASA hands down.

after i'm fully done breaking in my R, i'm getting an HMF. the reviews are good & the price is certainly right... just a slip though, not a full system. i'm only 135 lbs, dont need that much more power ( wait, what am i saying... ).

Just FYI...a Slip-on won't really do to much in the power department...it'll give some great sound...but thats about it. The real gain to be had is in going with an aftermarket head pipe...or a FULL system.

thanx for the advice. i'm really only lookin for more sound. will also get an HRC kit as well. that's about it. like i was saying, i'm wicked light, so this thing will pull me around regardless...

Just another FYI, if you don't have any motor work done then getting a full system is going to be like throwing money away. Plus the 450 makes more power than most people can use anyways. If you are only riding for rec. then a slip on is great and will make plenty of usable power for you. Good decision going with the HMF, you won 't be disappointed.

yeah, i'm not a racer. just go out to the desert & hit it. on e'bay, you can get HMF Sport Slips from between $219 - $$250 depending on the color you get, which in my eyes is a fair price.

Well if you are going to try and get a slip on the LRD pipe is good thats what I got and it gives lik elittle more than 5-7hp I think

I went from a HMF slip-on to the new DG Bullet full system and i swear to god, it feels like i put a big bore kit on it...gobs of power!

I agree with you woodsman250r, to a certain degree.....

Most people will inevitably get motor work at some point in time so if I were to buy a pipe, I would buy a full system to begin with......just my dos pesos! ;)

A full pipe, let alone a slip-on will not give you gains of 5-7hp. Sorry, but thats been dyno proven.

As far as sticking with a slip-on....I would never waste my money on a slip-on. Like Chino said, motor-work is somewhat inevitable. I thought my R was going to stay stock forever....but hundreds of dollars later....here I am:eek:.

The slip-on comment goes for the 04/05 model. For the 06/07 R's, the HRC headpipe is where its at. Honda doesn't include a headpipe in the 06/07 HRC kit just for the hell of it ;).

I wish rossier made a slip on to go on the 06/07 hrc header.

the shape is the difference. they should not perform any different according to HMF.

i like the sound of the eliptical much more than the sport, its deeper and more throaty.
