Is valve clearance the same for a stock 400 and 416,426,440?

Stock vavle clearance is 4 and 5. I have a TC cam/vavles and the Clearance is 5 and 6. Depends on what vavles and Cam the other engines have.

Valve lash clearence specifications doesn't change with bore size. Its the cam that determines that spec. Many aftermarket cams use stock specs. Hotcams uses slightly looser specs.

not to take ur thread but if i have a 11:1 compression are my valves going to clear? my local engine builder is saying that i should use clay to check but i really dont want to do that.

i just put a 11:1 piston in and ran it and i didnt have a problem..i got the valves done after the first few rides because it was ticking but other than that i had not clearance problems

was the ticking the valves hitting the piston?

no, or else i dont think it would still run..it ticked before i swapped pistons too cuz the valves needed adjusting....had them done and its not as loud anymore..That and i think pistons hitting valves would make alot more unpleasant noise than a little ticking
