what is the easiest way to take the chain off??

I use a flat tip screwdriver and needle nose to get the master link off.

does the stock chain have a master link i didnt think it did?? it is on a 400ex

the stock chain does not have a master link. I used a chain breaker which made it simple, and they are reasonably priced. If its the stock chain just take a saw or grinder to it.
