I pulled my valve caps off to adjust the valves and after adjusting them i decided to pull the head to inspect the valve springs, timing chain etc. becuase i recently bought this quad. I noticed the timing chain was a little loose. Should it be very tigh with no play or can it have a little bit of play. Should i buy a new chain right away or will this work? thanks

Even with a brand new chain there is SOME play.Try this, take out the chain tensioner, the plunger is gonna go all the way out.Now without retracting the plunger(keep it out) try putting the chain adjuster back into the cylinder. If you can put it up against the cylinder without retracting the plunger then the chain is shot, replace it.If you CANT put it against the cylinder and fully seat it without retracting the plunger then you should be good to go.Usually if i have less than a quarter inch of adjustement i replace it.;)
