tranny question?

hey guys one of my buddies has one of these i'm not sure what year but it's a z400 and i was just wondering how hard it is to replace second gear or if i should just buy another tranny and how much that would cost?
any help would be nice

not sure how much a new tranny would cost, but my freind had 2nd gear go out on him,and we took it to a freind who owns a mechanic shop,for just bikes, and he said that it is/was a very long an drawed out process,and he has been working on quads for about 10-15years.he basically said it sucked

I had every gear replaced in my 01 Raptor except 1st. My dealer charged me 3.5 hrs labor to teardown my motor, top end included, and put all the new gears in and reassemble.. The labor rate was 65 an hr so it cost me 210 in Labor.. I didn't buy my quad from them or know anybody there... This labor rate was directly out of the Yamaha dealers mechanic book.. This is the amount of time to bill the customer even if he finishes sooner then 3.5 hrs..
