My uncles 500 had drive train problems left and right. Make sure your radiator is free off mud. Also how the heck you break the a-arms?

JUNK!!!!!!!!! my buddy has a 500 and its the biggest peice of crap, hes had it in the shop more than hes rode it........ I know a farmer that has 2 500 and a 800 and both 500 are junk....... The 800s seem alot better but there still some quality issue but nothing like the 500-600 cc bikes, why i don't know cause there the same.

I have had 4 of the Sportsman 700 quads and 2 of the Kawi BF 750s. I have actually had more issues with the BF then I have the sportsmans. Also, the Polaris Sportsmans are the best selling utility quads, EVER.... Because of the sheer number of sportsmans out there though, you will hear about more issues.

On the flip side, I only keep my sportsman for under a year, then sell them, because I don't want them to fall apart on me.... If you are going to work them hard or ride them hard (mud, trails, sand. water, etc) either trade them off every year, or buy something other then a Polaris.

Can-Am, Arctic Cat, the Yamaha Grizzly all seem to be good quads that can be pounded and hold up much better.

This is just my $0.02 and from my own experience, so take it for what its worth... :)
