I got the november 06 atv sport in the mail today and they have an article and a few pics of the new gas gas 450. This thing looks pretty cool.

The frame looks almost like an aftermarket frame. Sachs LT dual rate front suspension on laeger/jb style arms. Pro pegged frame, an ati fade lock nut, carbon fiber shrouds, and aftermarket style stem, and what looks like a fully adjustable rear shock. Brembo brakes.

The fenders look kinda like a yfz.

Looks like gas gas did their homework this thing looks like it might be a good ride.

What do you guys think?

I saw it too in my atv sport. I would really like to see the msrp on one, but you're right, it does have some VERY nifty features for a stock quad. I want to see some dyno comparisons too, then I'll make my official decision on whether or not I would buy one. Probably the biggest turn off though is how hard it would be to get good cheap parts....and how little help would be out as compared to the current 450s that EVERYONE knows inside and out and can help you fix when necessary.

I rode the older GasGas 450 quad that FST had setup for XC racing with revalved suspension, narrower A-arms, Hipers, Razr IIs, and a 470 Kit. I though it was great for XC, but this new one looks to be alot better all around quad with the new engine and all.

i asked the gas gas dealer around me about the 300 2 stroke and he said that there wasnt a point in having one on the showroom floot because they are hard to sell and they are expensive:rolleyes: They really need to make a 250 or 265 updated 2 stroke that is decently priced....

parts are easliy ubtainable we had a gas gas wild 300 and needed some parts callled smackover and had them in a few days plus I will be a dealer and will be able to get parts when I need then parts are not a problems today like they was when they first came out they have a lot of years of r&d on them and a lot more parts, the reason that the parts we hard to get was the distributor on north american they now have a new north american distributor that also deals with husaberg and they are a class act. Its all the distributor who makes or breaks the deal the parts are in spain but if they dont follow up and get them coming then you are shot in the dark, plus the dealers need to carry some of those parts.
