I would stay away from a 426 for desert riding its pretty hot out there and the 426 runs a shade hotter any way just because of the stock sleeve is thin when bored that much but the 416 would really help if you want the big bore go ahead and go with the 440 it has an after market sleeve as far as cam goes I have a 426 and Im running the TC cam and am very satisfied with it Im running a JE piston if you dont want to bore your motor let me know I have std bore 400 piston Hi comp Je piston and an xr cam Ill give you both for about $125. bucks all you would need is a $20.00 gasket kit if interested let me know it will wake up your stock 400 but the bigger bore will make more power

How you like the TC Cam Shook? Which one is it? XC or MX?

I believe it is the cross country cam it the #926 grind I believe, and as far as $700.00 buck for a 416 sounds a little high but I would call Rich at Hetricks I believe he's only around $400. with some minor porting.
