Hi, I need help. I have an 06 450ER and right now it is bone stock. I'm getting a Hot Cam Stage 2 and an HMF Slip On. I'm going to do the green wire mod and also remove the airbox lid. What I need to know is what should I do with the jetting and are there any other little things I should do while I'm at it? Right now the bike seems to fall on its face if you just mash the gas so you have to roll into the throttle. I hear that this is due to the crappy jetting from the factory. I'm hoping these mods and jetting will help. What do you all think and reccomend? Thanks for the help.

Anyone have any ideas where I should start with the jetting with my mods? I'm sure the stock jetting wont work. I have read that changing the leak jet to a 42 should fix the idle to wot hesitation. What about a pilot jet, main jet, and needle? Will the 05 CRF needle work well or should I be looking at something else? Thanks for any help!

buy a 165 and 170 main jet
crf needle
42 pilot [stock]
#55 leak jet [or lower #]

and deff. get a adjustable fuel / air screw. it makes adjustments so much easier

now isnt the HRC kit a little more better than the stage 2 hotcam or no because its only like $350 because if it is faster than get that because it has the head pipe and all the jetting that you need usually because thats what I got

heres my point with the hrc kit.

if your gonna get a diff exhaust system, dont waste your $$ on the hrc kit

your gonna pay $300 for a cam and jets

hot cam st 2 - $115 [from sponsors on other sites, shipped]
crf needle - $12
165 main jet $2.50
leak jet - $3
cut green wire mod - freebe
remove ab lid - freebe
drill out breather "t" - freebe

theres nothing wrong with the hrc kit, but there are other ways to get to where you want to go......

45 pilot, '03 CRF Needle in the 4th groove, stock leak jet, 175 main for uncorked and 172 main with a quiet core. That's where mine ended up after a dyno tune. Different pipes can affect the main from 162-180.....

have an '06 trx450er, k & n filter, dg bullet full exhaust, jetted to 170 @ 1800ft (main), turned air/fuel out 1/2 -3/4 from stck, cut 5"x6" hole in airbox lid, runs awsome, haven't been able to ride it since it snowed in october, BY THE WAY I KNOW EVERYONE HATES DG PIPES, BUT WANTED SOMETHING DIFFERANT, trail riding and gravel pits for me with some stops at local track (just for the jumps)
