LOL...the family and I just had a nice chat about our current state of affairs over yet another store bought dinner because we have been running non stop for what seems like forever.
We sat down and added up the crap that we have been dealing with since august...
Trip across the country cancelled due to an employee quiting
My return to full time work to cover that employee
Best months we have had in 35 years of business just happen to fall when I am the most short handed(and not supposed to be working like am as per doctors orders)
Another long time employee found out he has spine cancer and is dying
My Yeller dog got killed
Rear U-Joint is toast in my truck
Wife has been trying to find yet another job so she has employement when our jobs of 15+ years comes to an end(sucks being over qualified:huh )
Got battery acid in my eyes
Teenager found a wise *** sense of humor:scary:
Bought back a TRX90 so Ryan could have a quad and then he wrecks it and tells me his quad career is over, he is a bike man from now on
Mother In-law is attempting to spend a weekend with us
Bought new Zero turn, broke spindle hitting stump I knew was there(No time to fix so bought new John Deere)
Pressure washer died, bought new one(Honda this time)
Plumber tells me odor from sink was due to a bad pipe that had algea growing in and could have caused serious illness
Plumber leaves and washing machine goes bad
Acorn crop is not good this year
Drought wasted my garden, no corn on the cob for me:mad:
Wasted 3 trips to the doctors because she was running a few hours behind, please reschedule
Traveled to race a quad for a company and....(better leave it at that)
Plant running 2 weeks behind, but thanks to corporate memo saying they are only 3 days behind I can not get support and have customers wanting me nutted(Nice CYA there corporate, the board wont find out if we all stick together:rolleyes: )
Oh well, I am not complaining. Just needed to get that off my chest, screaming did not help:D Maybe I need a trip to the infamous "Couch"

Im prayin for u man haha. I think this is your mid life crisis, Sux im having mine at the age of 20... But hey you know what they say "If it can happen, it will happen." Just when I think things are gonna get better, they get worse. Just keep your head held high and keep striving to live a great life. I kinda want to vent as well but dont want to hi jack your thread. We are here for ya Paps!

You have had a worse year then me it sounds like. All the things that happend to me was in a 2 month span and consisted of everything from, getting arrested for sitting on a cooler of beer, to totalling my truck after putting 2k in it. I know your not deppresed but if your like me then you laugh at how messed up life is sometimes haha.
Here is my list of unfortunate circumstances:
1. My grandma passed away from Barrets esophegus cancer.
2. Got arrested for doing abosolutely nothing wrong (sat on a cooler)
3. Speeding ticket (78 in a 60 $150)
4. Packers arnt doing well again (lost all hope)
5. Dropped the drive shaft in my truck and broke off the end of my transmission.
6. Put 2k in my truck for new transmission, installation and other misc. maitenance.
7. A month later and 2 weeks ago I totalled it by hitting a deer.
8. Threw a chain on my YFZ and cracked the case. ($1k)
9. Tightened the engine oil drain bolt on the 700r to tight and cracked the case (Fortunatly it was fixed under warrenty)
10. Broke off the engine oil filler tank bolt inside the tank on my rappy. (I just tighten stuff way to tight i guess :ermm:
11. I got stranded in Kentucky for 3 days because my vehicles mass air flow sensor went bad and no mechanics are open on the weekends. (Happend just last week)

When my dad passed away a few years ago, a good friend told me something I have tried to apply to my life since that time...
"Do what you can, with what you have, where your at"
Since trying to relax and be more carefree about things I cant control, life has been better. Learning to say "F it" sure helped:D

I hear ya. I've also come to understand I can't control everything, and I need to let things go that I can't control. It does help alot.

Mike,
Yeah it does suck for this feller. Around new years he was complaining of his neck and shoulder hurting alot. This guy is like me and never misses work. well he started being off more and more until he finally said he couldnt do anything. the doctors were checking him out etc but couldnt really find anything. finally they sent him to a specialist and wham...bone cancer.
I have a 3500 dodge diesel 6 speed. ive been noticing a vibration and for a month havent been able to find it. after checking everything i finally spotted the u joint. the positive is that i found the problem before it left me sitting or worse:p

I hear you. I lost my job of 5+ years.
Now, I'm dealing blackjack, and making the same amount of money but working about half the hours. Plus, it's easy work, I just flip cards. No deadlines, no stress, no impossible problems to solve in unrealistic timeframes.
Actually, now that I think about it, I guess it didn't turn out all too bad. :blah:
But money IS tight. My vacation to Hawaii and sunset wedding is going to put a real strain on my pocketbook. Actually, now that I think about it, I guess that doesn't sound all too bad, either.:bandit:

It has been everybody's bad year. I am just recovering from stuff that happened over a year ago.
1. My live in Girlfriend left.
2. A week later my parents split up after 22 years.
3. A week after that my Raptor was stolen and 13 of my guns, some were from my grandfather irreplaceable.
4. Started my own painting business all in this time frame.
5. Came down with incurable gastritis, Can't get drunk anymore this happened a month after my 21st birthday.
6. Blew the engine up in my 250r.
7. Got robbed again and they caught them before they left the driveway, but the house was tore up.
8. Moved and rented out that house.
When it rains it pours. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger.

Ha you guys have it lucky if it's only been a bad year, I'm goin on a solid bad three years, and I would list it all but I'd be here a long time... I've learned not to care about the bad stuff, but with that I stopped caring about other stuff too.

Sounds like he's got the same outlook on life I have. :)
The moto I try to live by is: "There is only one thing in your life that you can truly control. Your attitude."
If you let go and realize you don't have ultimate control over anything but your attitude and how you handle situations when they are good or bad makes life much much simpler.
If you keep your integrity in check, your outlook on life true, and realizie who has ultimate conrtol, then all things in life become much easier to cope with, good and bad.

Yes get that U joint fixed! I let my truck rattle like that untill it threw the drive shaft. Instead of costing me 50$ it cost me $1000. I told myself I was gonna drive it untill it breaks, and that was the stupidist ***** ive done in a long time lol. But yea it was the U joint......

You have no idea what kind of stress I'm under. I can't decide if I'm going barefoot or not. Do we take the kayak trip before or after the wedding? Which resort am I going to golf at? Are we going to take the same ATV trip we did last time, or should we try a new one?
It's a very difficult time for me right now.
