This is what KY250R is talking about - will this work on all of the 250R's? He has 86 and I have 87....

You have to know if it is a short or long rod....

All the years will work with one another. Just make sure you use the right piston or piston/spacer plate setup with the right crank.

Also... make sure the OEM (Wiseco complete cranks hove no such mark) crank has a mark on it for the counter balancer. One of my buddies got ripped off on Ebay. Someone sold him a CR250 crank and told him it was a for a TRX250R.

Where is the marking on for the counter balancer at? I can get more pics.... I will look at my manual tonight and do some research. I am sure Service Honda has part #'s too....

Hey KY250r... do some research also.

Thanks DPR250R!

That is funny man....lol...

I posted that pic on R-Riders a couple years ago.. I can't belive you still have it....

That was an 85 ATC motor I built for a buddy and "OUT" was spelled wrong... lol...

And yes... the mark on the crankshaft (highlighted yellow) is the one I am talking about...

I do not know the mearusement off the top of my head of a "Long Rod" vs. "Short Rod"... I have an extra long rod at home I could get the measurement for you...

There should be a 5mm diff between them...

that is phunny....... thats the very pic alright. :blah:

there is a 5mm difference in the two rods. one is 125mm(85/86) and the other is 130mm(87-89) but, for the life of me cant remember the identifying numbers/markings.
