I think my little neighbor was messing around in my garage and possibly swiped the spring that goes behind the oil filter, anyhow, does anyone know if it needs to be a certain tension spring or what? The dealer doesnt seem to know which they never do so I figured I would ask. I know some sport bikes and such the spring sometimes needs to be a certain tension so it can release if it builds up pressure and let oil move around better. Anyone know if that is the case with the preds, this thing has been just giving me to many ups and downs with little crap I want to get it fired up, sell it and go back to 2 strokes, they just make more sense to me.

The whole thing is ordering a new spring and having to wait, and for one I wont order another dang thing from my local dealer cause their morons and something always goes wrong or takes forever. I have seen springs at the local hardware store that looks like what I need but dont want to do anything unless i'm possitive about the tension issue.

haha, yeah the kids like 8yrs old or something and always likes to watch me work on the quads and dirt bikes i bring home. I had the side case off with all the bolts, oil filter, gasket, spring, and filter cover and everything was still there except the spring so its the only thing i can think of.

go to www.polarisindustries.com and somewhere on that site there is an OEM parts look up. go to that and search for you particular spring. you can order it directly from polaris.
i lost an even smaller spring for the seat clip in the carb!! i know how you feel.

well i ordered it from my local dealer which i really didnt want to do so lets see if they screw this up like everything else. I didnt see the post about it being there just to help the filter removal and of course read that after I already drove over to my dealer and ordered it. Oh well, hopefully this thing will be up and running by the end of the weekend
