I was removing my stock exhaust to replace and I noticed when I pulled it off there was not a exhaust gasket. Is this normal on a stock bike, or could it be a mistake. Do I need to get one before I install the new exhaust. thanks alot

Are you sure the gasket is not where the header mates with the head? Are you sure the gasket isn't still on the end of the exhaust?

I've reused the stock exhaust gasket before, but it is not recommended. If I were you, I'd purchase a new exhaust gasket to make sure you have a great seal. I've read that a leaky exhaust can lead to burnt up valves.

If you feel you need a new exhaust gasket after inspecting your current one, check out Brian @ WPP Racing. He has them for $5.50 + Shipping. Great guy, and he's my builder :)
