Moving up to 400ex, wife gets the 250x but wants elec start

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'm too cheap to go out and buy a 300ex to get her the elec start she wants when the 250x will be plenty bike for her. Iwas thinking of a 300ex bottom end in order to get the starter? Again, suggestions please. Any old motors you may have... Thanks

why not just get teh 300ex. they can be found pretty cheap and if you use a 300ex bottom end, you will end up with a 300ex anyway since the 300ex motor is just a 250x motor with a longer stroke and e-start. the stock bore the the 300 and teh 250 are the same, on teh 300ex has a longer stroke to give it the extra CC's
