My bike just quits pullin in 4th and 5th gear. you can shift but it feels like its in the same gear. it doesnt pull hardly at all. i have a porter and polished head stg2 hot cam, and 11.5 comp. piston. ive went from jets 210 to 225 and messed with the needle and nothing helps top end. could it be valve springs.

I don't think valve springs is going to be your problem!

that jet is huge...is it sputtering and backfiring...or just won't go. whats your gearing like. is it revved out and just at top speed of the gearing you have or won't it even rev out?

you tried going down in jet maybe?

Ive dropped one tooth in the front. ive went from a 195 to a 225 in jets and it seemed to get better with the bigger jet but it wont even rev out and hit the rev limiter anymore. i think the more gas was helping the the valves close and thats why it felt better cause more combustion. i work on cars and race mustangs and when the cars do that its valve springs.

I would def. Drop the jet size to about a 185mj with 2.5 turns out on the Air screw...

the 13 is going to get u up top but not that much,...

I have a feeling your flooding your bike up top....

I agree with the flooding, that big of a jet would definately keep you from getting in the upper rpms.

man a 225 jet is huge! Have you looked at your plug at all? Maybe try jetting down a bit

let quad warm up in nuetral after its warmed up hold throtte wide open if the quad bogs up top you are way to fat on the jet did you replace the valve springs with hd ones when doing the head work if not probably a good idea

As long as he has his stock CDI I dont see a reason for upgraded springs...

i have stock cdi in it. no i didnt change springs they are original thats why i was wondering. they prolly have 350 to 400 hrs on them id say. but i was runnin a 195 main with just nmotion exhaust and it loved it. with the 225 the color of the plug after a shut down pass is lite tan.

I have an 06 450r n motion pipe.If your bike keeps not pulling in the top end you need to jet it down.My main is a 170 and pilot is a 50.That works well all through the powerband. 06 450r nmotion full exhaust green wire mod k&n filter outerwear stage 2 hot cam 170 main 50 pilot
