I have a 2002 300ex with a FmF MegaMax II full exhaust system on it. I need help on what jets i need to get. I was thinking about getting the k&n power kit that comes with jets. Would it come with what i need to rejet my quad? I keep hearing it depends on where u live. i live in southern PA if that helps.
Thanks

well i don't think it matters where you live to get the right jets, they will send you a stage 1 with i think below 3000 feet and stage 2 with jets for over 3000 feet, i'm not sure which is which. the power kit comes with the stage 1 jets and stage 2 jets with a air filter and air filter cleaner and oil. some peopel will tell you it is just cheaper to go buy the jets but i wasn't really sure so i just bought the kit and followed the directions.

go to your local dearler/shop and they should have sepret(sp?) jets. just go get the next like 4 sizes up that way you can play around with it a little and if you get anymore stuff you can just pop a new jet in with out having to go get one, youll already have it. you should only have to go down? one one your needle and up one size on your main the idle screw can stay stock you just might have to pull it out a few turns. this is alot easier than spending 100 bucks for a few instructions and jets. this that i told you to do with only be about 15 bucks. just a thought...

I recommend getting the "Power Up Kit" with the jets if you have never attempted putting jets in.

For those with experience... I agree to get the next few sizes up... But beware, some places charge alot for each jet, and after a few of them, you may have gotten a larger selection for about the same price, and get instructions from the K&N kit.;)

Good luck!

I have a 97 300ex with a full FMF Magamax II exhaust system and a K+N power kit. From the stock 122 MJ i went up to a 128 MJ with abut 2 and 3/4 turns out on the air/fuel screw. Runs like a dream and i dont have any airbox mods. PM with any questions

you might have to mess with your needle a little like go down one(i think???) in your clip but that should be all...

i never had to do anything to mine all i did was put the 128 mj in it and thats it. i have the same thing 2002 300ex with a mega max2 and i live in ohio. my main jet was screwed all the way in. and i bet yours is to. so just replace it and thats it. don't mess with the needle or anything if you don't have to. but thats my opinion bassed on what i had to do to mine. i hope that helps ya

I have a 2000 300EX with a White Brothers E-Series Pro-Meg full exhaust, and K&N. I just went to a 128mj, and it runs great. The only thing is it hits the rev limiter now, and it never did that before with the stock exhaust. :)
So I would just get a 124, 126, and a 128, and start playing with it until it runs good. On a side note I just ordered my Razors today, I should have them in 4-5 days. So I can't wait.

How hard are the mj's to change? Where is the cheapest place to get them?

Thanks

none of us can tell you the cheapest place unlsee we live around you. what i did was go to a few honda dealers and check the prices on them and which one was the cheapest was the one i bought that was like $1.50...to change the main jet all you have to do is... take off your back plastic and loosen the plastic right around your gas tank... take off your gas tank and fule line(be sure to turn the gas off)...loosen the clamps that hold the carb in on both sides... slide the carb out of the boots... flip it over and take the flost bowl off(the part with the drain plug and the acclerator(sp?) pump on it)...take the main jet out screw the new one in in its place and put it all back to gether the same way it came apart... note: the carb may be hard to get back in the boots...that should be all you have to do, hope that this helps some...later...

At the stealer,... I mean dealer... wait no, I mean stealer.

I just bought a 130mj to play with, and it was only $2.90. I really need to drill out the screws holding in the needle so that I can move it one notch. Oh well, it is running pretty good, I just think it can run better. That will be a project for some downtime.

You can call DynoJet directly and buy jets at $2 each.

http://dynojet.com/carbjet.shtml

DJ STYLE MAIN JET
Available from size 74-150 in increments of 2 and from size 150-210 in increments of 5.
Available individually for $2.00

I just bought 5 (sizes 130 thru 140) and with 3-day shipping was less than $20. It would help greatly if you already had the stage 2 power kit from them.

You didn't mention where in southern PA you live, but Ray Wilt in Hanover can order jets at $4/each.
